Three opportunities - one passport to Singapore

From February 1st to 3rd, San Salvador will be the focal point for table tennis in Panamerica. Three days, three opportunities for a boy and a girl to get qualified for the First Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.

The regulations establish that every continent can determine the system of play for their own continental qualification event.

Without doubts, Pan America has the most creative one.

In the line of the Pan American Qualification Events for the Olympic Games held in 2008 to get the passports for Beijing, from February 1st to 3rd three knock-out draws will be played in the boys and girls categories.

The winner of each knock-out will get the passport for Singapore. If you are runner-up in all the three... unfortunately you will not get qualified. But still there are chances to be in the Youth Olympic Games.

YOG International Qualification Events
Players who will not qualify in the five continental events, have still an opportunity in the five "International" qualification events as follows:
• YOG International Qualification Event 1 - Manama (BRN): February 6th-7th
• YOG International Qualification Event 2 - Cairo (EGY): February 14th-15th
• YOG International Qualification Event 3 - Lignano (ITA): March 23rd-24th
• YOG International Qualification Event 4 - Auckland (NZL): April 10th-11th
• YOG International Qualification Event 5 - Valencia (VEN): April 24th-25th
