Mexico Emerges as Predominant Force in Honduras

The gold medal secured by Maria Espinosa was one of five won by Mexico.
Team Gold
The partnership of Mauricio Juarez and Jose Villa secured the Boys’ Team title beating their colleagues Angel Briceño and Guillermo Casio in the final while in the counterpart Girls’ Team event it was success for the outfit of Maria Espinosa and Gladys Banqueto.
They overcame Guatemala’s Madelin Salazar and Dulvce Rivera in the gold medal duel.
Doubles Success
Meanwhile, Mexico collected the top prize in the Boys’ Doubles competition with Jose Villa and Mauricio Juarez overcoming Panama’s Jose de Leon and Juan Hun in the final with Jose Villa adding a further title to his name by emerging as the champion in the Mixed Doubles competition.
He partnered Maria Espinoza to a final victory over El Salvador’s Ariel Umazor and Andrea Galeano.
Title for Guatemala
Five gold medals for Mexico, one for El Salvador and there was also one for Guatemala.
Catherine Austin and Michael Norales secured the Girls’ Doubles crown beating El Salvador’s Andrea Galeano and Emmi Arias in the final.
