Two Team Titles for El Salvador on Home Soil

The tournament started on Wednesday January 27th and will conclude on Saturday January 30, 2010.
Closest of the competitions was the Junior Girls’ event.

However, for Honduras when faced with El Salvador, it was to be a reversal of the score line against Guatemala. They were beaten three-two.
The end result was that Guatemala gained second place with Honduras third and El Salvador fourth.
Third place for El Salvador but it could so nearly have been first; they extended Mexico the full five match distance.
More Decisive
’Team event, matters were more decisive.
El Salvador (Edilberto Merino, Luis Mejia, Juan Henriquez, David Diaz) recorded three-nil wins on every visit to the table with Mexico (Jorge Navarro, Alberto Roma, Miguel Lara, Alejandro Garza) in second place and Guatemala (Allan Guttierez, Cesar Lopez, Gabriel Orrellana, Ottoniel Veliz) in third place.
Cadet Boys’ Team event
Success for El Salvador in the Junior Boys’ Team competition and there was also in the Cadet Boys’ Team event.
The squad of Julio Calderon, Carlos Umanzor, Erick Aviles and Ariel Umanzor finished in first place ahead of Mexico (Ulises Herrera, Jose Gomez, Eduardo Portillo, Axel Molina) and Guatemala (Amilacar Acevedo, Mario Valenzuela, Romeo Aldana, Hosni Sandoval).
Cadet Girls’ Team Event
Meanwhile, in the Cadet Girls’ Team event it was success for Guatemala.
Mabelyn Enriquez, Analdy Lopez, Andrea Montufar and Caterine Agustin finished on the top step of the medal podium with El Salvador (Margarita Ortiz, Mariela Monge, Yanci Urias, Andrea Galeano) in second place and Honduras (Andrea Hpert, Daniela Ayestas, Diana Rosales, Diana Avelar), third.
