ACUI Region 9 Table Tennis Summary

Region 9 held their table tennis tournament this past weekend at the University of Indiana. Even with the inclement weather in the area, we had the largest turn out in years for this year's event, even with 2 no -shows due to the weather. The tournament was held at Indiana University, Bloomington.
Fourteen men players and four women players put on a show that was very entertaining, especially to the spectators who have never seen the caliber of players that were assembled for this event. Indiana University was the largest contingent with 6 men and 1 woman, followed by Indiana Wesleyan University with 5 men. On the men's side, four person round-robins were played, with the Top 2 in each advancing to an 8 man single - elimination bracket. The matches were exciting, with Mario Veiweger, from Indiana University coming out on top with a victory over Debdutta Roy, from Ball State University. On the Women's side, we had 2 high caliber players with Chudan Luo, from Indiana University edging out Yating Niu, from Ball State University.
