ACUI Region 1 Table Tennis Summary

This year the ACUI Region 1 Table Tennis Tournament took place February 6th 2010 at Fitchburg State College. On a cold, windy New England day, a small, but mighty group got together to claim the title best in the region! Three Men, Phillip Rottwilm, Norman Yao and John Korpan battled fiercely.
Two women, Nancy Chen and Brande SiPeng challenged each other fiercely.
The overall challenge was short, only lasting a quick few hours. For the Men’s tournament Phillip dominated the game with his aggressive attacks and winning overall first place. Norman came in second, giving a good try. John played well, but placed 3rd. The field of players were well matched, however Phillip was by far the superior player.
The women’s play was a buzz of playing. Two nearly equal players Nancy and Brande played very close the entire game, with Nancy winning overall. The two ladies had a good show and enjoyed the company of a challenge.
After the match the players met up in the local Campus Center Gameroom to bond and play more Table Tennis! All of them were fast friends and interested in growing the sport in the region.
